Nir has been involved with the Asterisk Open Source community since 2002, serving as the Israeli community focal point and maintainer since 2003. Since 2009, Nir has been increasingly involved in Asterisk Security and Asterisk Forensics. Nir is currently best known for his work with High Scale Open Source VoIP platforms - combining Kamailio, Asterisk and other open source projects to create highly scalable telephony services for the mobile market and the emerging M2M market. Nir is currently involved in building a “Pure Open Source” switching and services fabric for a mobile network in the UK and Africa


Eric Klein

Eric has more than 25 years of experience in the Telecom industry. In addition to his experience in VoIP security at Greenfield Tech and fraud prevention at Humbug Telecom, he has worked for carriers MCI Communications (now part of Verizon) and Cellcom. Eric co-authored RFC4864 - Local Network Protection for IPv6 and served as a grant reviewer for the US Department of Commerce Broadband Initiatives (BIP) Program and Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP). Eric has taught practical networking at a number of Universities and schools to both undergraduate and graduate students including: NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, Tel-Aviv Jaffa Academic and Pace University.


Chris Howard

Chris Howard is Digium’s Developer Products Training Manager. Chris has over twenty years of telecommunication experience with unique blend of operation support systems integration, software development, project management, and technical training,. As Digium’s Training Manager Chris is responsible for planning training courses, developing and delivering training curriculum, and managing training operations. Before joining Digium, Chris spent twelve years as the Director of Software Development for Asteria Solutions Group a company founded in 2004 to provide technical services, support and development for Asterisk based solutions. As a Senior Consultant at Nortel Networks, Chris implemented service activation, network provisioning and network inventory management systems for Tier 1 telecommunication companies . Chris holds a BS from the University of North Alabama.

Jeff Eckard

Jeff Eckard is vice president of cloud data solutions for IBM. He leads cross-portfolio and partner solution strategy, development, offering models and go-to-market activities with a focus on multicloud and analytics capabilities for the enterprise. Prior to joining IBM in 2017, Jeff led product, solution and engineering teams for NetApp focused on edge data cloud and OpenStack-based private cloud storage, virtual storage appliances, Hadoop analytics, storage area networks, and customer services operations. Jeff holds JD and BA degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from the University of Washington.


Nick Bilogorskiy

Nick Bilogorskiy leads cybersecurity strategy at Juniper Networks. As a founding member at Cyphort, which was recently acquired by Juniper Networks, Nick created and led the Cyphort Labs Threat Research team. He also played a critical role designing Cyphorts malware detection logic and product user experience. Prior to Cyphort, Nick was chief malware expert at Facebook and also held security research leadership positions at Fortinet and Sonicwall. Nick is fluent in reverse engineering, analysis, pattern writing and malware tracking. He has presented and published research papers at major security conferences including Virus Bulletin, ISACA and SecureWorld. Nick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and philosophy from Simon Fraser University and a GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) certification, as well as multiple patents in computer security.

A large (yes, it’s a fat joke) proponent of Asterisk and Kamailio, Fred currently provides Kamailio / VoIP consultation services through LOD.com and The Palner Group, Inc. In 2010, Fred and his wife opened a bakery in Florida. When not working on SIP, hes baking bread.


Todd Abbott

A seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience in the computing, networking, and business communications industries, Todd Abbott is a customer-focused leader with a keen ability to develop go-to-market strategies, sales models, and channel programs and to drive an execution-focused culture. In his role as Mitel’s Executive Vice President of Global Sales & Services, Todd oversees Mitel’s global sales operations, including cloud and enterprise sales, professional and support services, and channel programs. Prior to joining Mitel, Todd was Chief Revenue Officer at Spireon, a private company focused on the vehicle telematics market. Todd has also held senior executive positions at several business communications companies, including leading the sales and marketing programs at Symbol Technologies, Seagate Technology, Avaya, and Sonus Networks. He also has significant start-up experience, as CEO of Tely Labs, focused on the cloud-based video conference market. Earlier in his career, Todd spent eight years at Cisco Systems where he assumed a series of progressively more senior positions around the world, including sales management responsibilities in New York, Sales Vice President in Singapore, and Group Vice President in Paris, and leading the service provider business in Europe, Middle East, and Asia. Todd began his career in 1982 at IBM Corporation. Todd has a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Finance and Marketing from Northeastern University (Boston, Massachusetts).

Simon had discretion to manage over £40m+ of funds before age 21, becoming the youngest qualified member of the Securities Institute. He had a reputation and track record for stock-picking, particularly of technology companies but found his career focussing on senior roles in business recovery and technology troubleshooting.Simwood (https://simwood.com) was founded in 1996 (as eSMS: the worlds first global gateway between the Internet and Mobile Phones) and Simon left finance in 1999 to focus on it and a number of other start-ups. He was usually co-founder and occupied roles from CEO to CTO, exiting all of them except Simwood by 2005. As CEO and architect, he shaped the current business of Simwood to be the wholesale voice and mobile operator it is today.In 2016 he was elected a Director of the London Internet Exchange (http://www.linx.net), the world’s largest member-owned peering exchange operator. LINX operates peering exchanges across the UK and in North Virginia USA.In that role he speaks widely at industry events, often around the companys extensive research on voice fraud and infrastructure.


Bachir Halimi

Corey has been a featured lecturer at numerous business conferences, published articles on business and technology, and been the subject of a television program profiling visionary businesspeople in Pennsylvania.


Layne Levine

Layne Levine is president of Windstream’s Enterprise business unit. He is responsible for overseeing sales, financial performance, marketing, field technicians, service delivery and customer care and repair for the enterprise segment.Levine has worked in the telecom industry for more than 25 years, most recently as chief revenue officer at GTT, which provides cloud networking services to multinational customers. In that role, Levine led the company’s revenue growth initiatives worldwide, targeting global carriers and multinational enterprises and developing its emerging channel strategy. Previously he was the executive vice president for GTT’s Americas division, managing the sales efforts for North and South America.Prior to joining GTT, Levine was senior vice president of sales at Alpheus Communications. Before that he was senior vice president of retail sales for Deltacom/EarthLink. Levine also has held leadership positions at Airband Communications, Level 3 Communications and Broadwing Communications.Levine has a Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech University.

Prior to joining Windstream he served as chief marketing officer for Integra Telecom, a facilities-based telecom services provider, from 2011 until joining Windstream. Previously Joseph was with Level3 Communications as Vice President of Product Development responsible for Transport, IP, Data and Voice product development globally.After acquiring his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and finance from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Joseph began his career at MCI Communications in 1993 in the business markets division where he held a number of marketing leadership positions.


Diego Gosmar



Diego Gosmar, a Telco-Innovation passionate, has more than 18 years of experience in the Telecommunication industry. He started to work on one of the first Voice over IP H.323 technologies in the early 1997 Telecom Italia Labs when he was completing the University studies. In 1998 he moved in Omnitel (now Vodafone) where he lead some strategic projects for the early GPRS and UMTS vendor selection. He worked in Atlanet (Telefonica Data company) from 1999 to 2004, where he managed the IP Network planning.In 2007 Diego joined Xenialab as co-Founder. Together with a team of passionate VoIP experts, he worked on Asterisk to launch a flagship software solution for the global Contact (Call) Center market called xCALLY. Starting from 2013 Diego has been driving the XCALLY international expansion as Xenialab CEO, covering now more than 45 countries worldwide.Diego is dCAP and ITIL certified: he is involved in the Astricon conferences since many years. Giuseppe Innamorato



Giuseppe started to work in the Telecommunication market as a technician of telephone exchanges in Telecom Italia in 1980, following the digital evolution until 1984.Subsequently, he participated in the first Unix network deployment (1984-1988).In 1988 he was hired as a manager at the Olivetti training center.
